
Allison Brooks Janney (born November 19, 1959)[2] is an American actor. Over more than three decades, she has become famous for her roles in different genres of screen and the stage. Janney was awarded numerous awards, including the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The actress has also received seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was also nominated to two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston as a child, but was raised at home in Dayton (Ohio). Her career began when she got a grant to education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney was credited for a number of small and rare film and television appearances over the years. Her most famous part in the role of C. J. Cregg on the NBC show The West Wing (1999-2006) was the basis for 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. The actress was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series as Margaret Scully's part on Masters of Sex. She is most famous for her portrayal Bonnie Plunkett.
